The Department of Natural Resources requires agricultural farming services for land located at Weinberg-King State Park, Scripps Unit. Lease #2385 is located in Schuyler County, Township 2 North, Range 2 West, Section 33 & 34, and Township 1 North, Range 2 West, Section 4, 4th P.M. The acreage for this farm lease is approximately 126.8 acres in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 of land at Weinberg-King State Park for agricultural purposes.
Many Department of Natural Resources owned or managed lands contain tillable acreage. These lands have the potential to generate revenue if used to grow agricultural products. It is the Department’s policy to minimize the use of such lands for agricultural production in favor of establishing annual or permanent wildlife habitats. However, the Department also recognizes that certain agricultural practices and farm income can provide needed resources for wildlife habitat, improving habitat diversity, developing cover and edge effect, and maintaining annual vegetative stages.
A mandatory vendor conference shall be held December 5, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Weinberg-King State Park, Highway 101, 3 mi. East of Augusta, Augusta, IL 62311. See A.5 of the solicitation document.
In case of inclement weather, please call site Office 815-772-4708 to verify the Vendor Conference is proceeding as scheduled.
