Illinois Outdoors Hall of Fame Nominations Deadline is June 19
SPRINGFIELD, IL – Do you know someone who’s earned the honor of being inducted into the Illinois Outdoors Hall of Fame? Nominations are open through June 19.

Selection is reserved for those who have made significant contributions and have shown unparalleled dedication to preserving, promoting, enhancing and supporting natural resources and outdoor recreation opportunities in the State of Illinois.

“Help us honor those who have dedicated their lives to the betterment of outdoors recreation and conservation of our natural resources,” said Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Director Wayne Rosenthal. “By nominating a deserving person for this award, you can help preserve their legacy and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.”

Some inductees have touched the lives of thousands of youth and adults by promoting fishing, hunting, conservation and safety education. Others have spearheaded efforts to preserve or enhance fish and wildlife habitat or protect and restore lakes and rivers. And others have been national and international leaders in efforts to understand our natural world.

“The Illinois Outdoors Hall of Fame induction ceremony is the signature event of the Illinois Conservation Foundation,” said ICF Executive Director Eric Schmidt. “It is important that the Foundation recognize those that have done so much while at the same time cultivating the next generation of conservationists.”

The ICF is proud to manage the selection process and this year’s inductees will be honored at the ICF Gala on Thursday, September 24 at the Hilton Indian Lakes Resort in Bloomingdale. This year’s class will join the exclusive group of 48 current honorees.
