Illinois Conservation Foundation Announces $50,000 Grand Prize Raffle
Annual Illinois Sportsman’s Raffle to benefit youth outdoor education programs
SPRINGFIELD, IL – More than $65,000 in prizes will be awarded in the 2015 Illinois Sportsman’s Raffle, raising money for the Illinois Conservation Foundation’s youth outdoor education and conservation programs. Only 2,000 tickets will be sold for this exclusive fundraiser, giving supporters a chance to help pay for their holiday gifts.

Tickets cost $100 each, or buyers can purchase three for $250. The grand prize winner will receive $50,000, with $5,000 to a first-place winner, $2,500 to second place and eight additional $1,000 winners.

“Raffle proceeds help fund ICF youth conservation education programs,” said Eric Schmidt, Executive Director of the ICF. “Over the past six months, we’ve hosted our own curriculum near Rockford, Mt. Vernon, Bloomington and Chicago. The children in our programs experience conservation, education and outdoor recreation programs…often for the first time. We couldn’t provide these programs without charitable support.”

Opportunities for fishing, hunting and camping, as well as conservation scholarships and classroom-based field trips, are available through the ICF. Often, these programs come to life at the ICF’s Torstenson Youth Conservation Education Center, located on 750 acres near Rockford.

Raffle tickets will go on sale on Monday, November 2, 2015 and may be purchased online at www.ilcf.org, by check to ICF, #1 Natural Resources Way, Springfield, IL 62702, or by calling the Foundation at 217-785-2003. Drawings will take place on January 29, 2016.

If all 2,000 tickets aren’t sold, prizes will be adjusted to reflect the percentage of tickets sold. For example, if 1,000 tickets are sold, prizes will be 50% of the prize money above. All business transactions and operations of this raffle take place exclusively in Sangamon County, Illinois. This raffle is being conducted in accordance with the Raffles and Poker Runs Act, 230 ILCS 15/0.01 et.seq. and the Sangamon County Raffle Ordinance. All funds are held in private accounts at the ICF.

The ICF is an IRS 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit corporation established in 1994 to support the programs of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.  The ICF inspires today’s youth – tomorrow’s leaders – by providing quality outdoor education and programs that instill interest in conservation, ecology and sustainability.

Contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. For more information on the ICF, or to arrange individual or corporate support for ICF educational and other programs, contact the Foundation at 217-785-2003 or online at www.ilcf.org.
