Henderson Creek SFWA

2017 - 2018 Season


Location: 2.5 miles south of Oquawka, IL
Description: 2,462 total acres in size.   913 acre refuge located on northern-half of site.  Walk-in waterfowl hunting only.  Access from hunter parking lot located at south end of the site.

Duck Statewide  Legal opening at 1:00 p.m. See Area Regulations  
Goose Statewide Legal opening at 1:00 p.m. Allowed only during the central zone duck season.

Area Regulations:

  1. Hunters are required to obtain a free site windshield card online at the IDNR website:  The windshield card must be visable through the windshield.    
  2. Hunting parties must remain a minimum of 200 yards apart.
  3. Hunters are required to hunt over a minimum of 12 decoys.
  4. Only non-toxic shot can be used.  No other shotgun shells loaded with lead shot may be in possession.
