Illinois Milkweed and Milkweed Pollination - CRSNA

Date(s):
6/9/2018
Time(s):
10 - 11:30a.m., Saturday
Description:
Join John Schwegman as he shows images of the 19 milkweeds of Illinois and discusses their habitats, ranges within Illinois, and notable features.  The unique pollination mechanism of milkweeds involves traps on the flower that catches insects by the leg.  If weather permits, participants will be out in the field to view pollination in process and remove pollen masses with tooth picks.
