Fort Massac Site Interpreter

The Fort Massac State Park Visitor Center and historic site is open on Monday 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-3 p.m.  The historic site has the archaeological outline of the original site of all the forts built at Fort Massac. There is also a replica of an 1802 American Fort that once stood on the site. The Visitor Center has a reception area with information on the fort and surrounding area. There is a history video about Fort Massac and a prehistoric artifact display.
The historic site offers educational programs presented by the site interpreter. The historical period is from 1750s to the Civil War era. Classroom presentations are available. For more information, call 618-524-9321.
