Overview:
The Department of Natural Resources requires agricultural farming services at Starved Rock State Park for land located in LaSalle County, Section 26, 27, 29, & 31, Township 33 North, Range 2 East, 3rd principle Meridian.

The acreage for farm lease is approximately 417.8 acres in 2013, 418.6 acres in 2014, 377.3 acres in 2015 and 378.1 acres in 2016.

Many Department of Natural Resources owned or managed lands contain tillable acreage. These lands have the potential to generate revenue if used to grow agricultural products. It is the Department’s policy to minimize the use of such lands for agricultural production in favor of establishing annual or permanent wildlife habitats. However, the Department also recognizes that certain agricultural practices and farm income can provide needed resources for wildlife habitat, improving habitat diversity, developing cover and edge effect, and maintaining annual vegetative stages.

A mandatory vendor conference shall be held December 3, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at Starved Rock State Park, Routes 178 and 71, P.O. Box 509, Utica IL 61373. See A.5 of the solicitation document.
