The Department of Natural Resources is requesting Offers (bids/proposals) from responsible Vendors to meet the State's needs. Below is a brief description of our needs with detailed requirements in subsequent sections of this solicitation. If you are interested and able to meet these requirements, please submit an Offer.
The Department requires agricultural farming services for land located at Snakeden Hollow State Fish & Wildlife Area, Knox County, IL. Lease 2012 is located at Snakeden Hollow SFWA, Knox County, IL, Township 12 North, Range 4 East, Sections 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 28 & 29, 4th P.M. The acreage for farm lease is: 184.5 crop acres leased in 2013, 209.9 acres in 2014, 204.8 acres in 2015, & 209.9 acres in 2016.
Many Department owned or managed lands contain tillable acreage. These lands have the potential to generate revenue if used to grow agricultural products. It is the Department's policy to minimize the use of such lands for agricultural production in favor of establishing annual or permanent wildlife habitats. However, the Department also recognizes that certain agricultural practices and farm income can provide needed resources for wildlife habitat, improving habitat diversity, developing cover and edge effect, and maintaining annual vegetative states.
A mandatory vendor conference shall be held November 15, 2012, 9:00 a.m. at the Spoon River Forest-Snakeden Hollow SFWA, 1936 Route 167, Victorial, IL 61485. See A.5 of the solicitation document.
