Youth and Women Wingshooting Clinic at Johnson-Sauk Trail on Sept. 13 
 
KEWANEE, IL– The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) and the Rock Island/Henry County Pheasants Forever are sponsoring a Wingshooting Clinic for beginning shotgun shooters at Johnson-Sauk Trail State Recreation Area near Kewanee, IL.

The clinic will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014. This clinic is for youth ages 10-15 years and women.  Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and the clinic will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.  Professional IDNR and National Sporting Clays Association certified instructors will instruct participants/students.  There is a $10.00 reservation fee per student.  All supplies including shotguns, ammunition and lunch are provided for students.

Part one of the clinic consist of classroom instruction on firearm safety, nomenclature and safety. Part two is hands-on, and includes a variety of extensive live fire at clay targets.

What: Wingshooting Clinic – education and safe use of a firearm and learning to shoot a shotgun at flying clay targets.

Where: Johnson-Sauk Trail SRA, Kewanee, IL.

When: Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014 - Registration begins at 9:00 a.m.
                Clinic begins at 10:00 a.m. and runs until 4:00 p.m.

Who: Young wingshooters (male or female) 10-15 yrs., and women may participate.
 
Instructors: IDNR Certified Volunteer Hunter Safety Instructors and Certified NSCA Wing Shoot Instructors.

Sponsors: Rock Island/Henry County Pheasants Forever and the IDNR.

Lunch: Provided courtesy of Rock Island/Henry Co. Pheasants Forever.

Supplies:     Provided; includes shotguns, ammunition, clay targets, traps, eye and ear
protection, and printed materials. All manpower and supplies provided by     Rock Island/Henry Co. Pheasants Forever and IDNR.
