DNR Flood Response - Mississippi and Ohio Rivers 

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has committed over 100 staff, along with scores of boats, trucks, and ATVs, to assist in the state’s response to flooding in Southern Illinois. Over 50 Lands Management personnel are helping with flood response and property protection, and the Illinois Conservation Police are working on water rescue, evacuation, asset patrol and protection and security. The Conservation Police have made more than 450 water rescues, and they are being assisted by 25 Fisheries Biologists utilizing Fisheries boats.; The Office of Water Resources Staff are instrumental in assessing risks to critical infrastructure, such as levees and dams, and informing the emergency response team on river forecasts.
