Commercial Waterfowl Hunting

During the summer of 2014, legislation was passed adding commercial waterfowl hunting to the deer and wild turkey Outfitter statute (520 ILCS 5/3.1-3). Administrative Rules regulating the revised Outfitter statute have not been finalized, but this new law will affect all current Commercial Waterfowl Hunting Operations.  Some existing commercial waterfowl hunting practices will be defined as providing outfitting services and others will no longer require registration with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).  Please refer to DNR information sources for more information in spring 2015 and watch the DNR website for opportunities to comment on proposed Administrative Rule changes as they become available.
