Perseid Meteor Shower (Weldon Springs)

Description: 
Join us for a special program, “A Shower of Stardust - the annual Perseid Meteor Shower.” Area residents are invited to enjoy the spectacular display as Earth travels through a stream of cosmic debris and our atmosphere incinerates tiny particles of Comet Swift-Tuttle to produce 50-60 “shooting stars” per hour.

A fire and a treat will be provided.  Participants should bring a blanket, bug spray and a sweater for comfort.  In the event of rain, the program will be offered on August 12.  Please respect park quiet hours which begin at 10 PM.
