Description: 
In celebration of the 50th year of 1964 The Wilderness Act, the Shawnee Group of the Illinois Sierra Club is hosting hikes in wilderness area of southern Illinois.  In 1990 eight wilderness areas were dedicated in Illinois, one at Crab Orchard NWR, seven in Shawnee National Forest, USDA.

Lusk Creek Wilderness Area is located in Pope County, east of State Route 145, Eddyville.  Meet at Indian Kitchen Trailhead of Shawnee National Forest.
