Description: 
The greater prairie chicken of Illinois once had a population of nearly 10 million birds.  Despite all efforts, Illinois' prairie chicken population has declined to estimates of between 50 and 500 birds. Bob Gillespie of Illinois Natural History Survey will enlighten us on the natural history of the prairie chicken and Illinois' efforts to save this North American bird.
