Tipis, horses, and cowboys are just a few of the genuine western attractions you can see and experience at the Oregon Trail Days Festival being held July 20-21 in Oregon, Illinois. This is a celebration of Oregon’s Native American and Western heritage and features a Cowboy encampment filled with all manner of Wild West Shows, cowboys, gun slingers and horses. The giant Native American Dance Ring will be filled with authentic performers in beautifully adorned regalia and drumming that can be heard throughout the park. Twenty-five authentic painted Tipis are on display and available for camping. A pioneer gathering with authentic log cabin and pioneer demonstrations have been added for 2013. An art show and Mountain Man area will round out the cultural demonstrations. Many children’s activities, food and merchant vendors.
Saturday night features an Outdoor Saloon and Eatery in down town Oregon. There will be country music and a Tribute to Johnny Cash performed by Terry Lee Goffee.
