Asian Carp Regional Coordinating Committee to hold Press Event near T.J. O’Brien Lock and Dam
The Asian Carp Regional Coordinating Committee will hold a press event at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 20 at Sunset Bay Marina on S. Calhoun Ave. in Chicago to formally announce the start of the latest Asian carp control efforts and Rotenone treatment on the Little Calumet River near T.J Obrien Lock and Dam. Treatment of the two-mile stretch of the rive will begin on May 20.

Asian Carp Regional Coordinating Committee Members expected to address the media and answer questions include:
Illinois Department of Natural Resources: John Rogner, Assistant Director
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service: Charlie Wooley, Deputy Regional Director
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers: Col. Vincent Quarles, Chicago District Commander
Note: Media will have authorized on shore visual access to a section of the treatment area from the press conference location at Sunset Bay Marina following the press event and then daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the event.
B-roll video and photographs from other locations in the treatment area during the week’s operation will be made available to media at http://www.asiancarp.org.
No members of the media will be allowed in the treatment or staging area.
