Report Occurrence-Endangered or Threatened Species

Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Natural Heritage (Biotics 4) Database

The IDNR Natural Heritage (Biotics 4) Database maintains data on Illinois' endangered and threatened species as well information for several other significant natural resources in the state. More information about the database can be found on the Natural Heritage Database website.

If you wish to report the occurrence of an endangered or threatened species, you can do so by completing the Endangered/ Threatened Species Occurrence and Sighting Report Form:

The form must be completed in its entirety and submitted to IDNR Natural Heritage Database Manager. For individuals who are not already recognized as species experts by database staff, the addition of a photo voucher of the species occurrence is required as part of the report.
